Figgy, formerly known as Tinkerbell, is a feisty 10-month-old pup who found her forever home through a “foster fail.” Figgy has been described by her dad as “cute with all kinds of naughty.” She has even thoughtfully provided her new family with more “opportunities to buy replacement slippers,” and has successfully upgraded 5 pairs since first coming home in mid-June 2021. Figgy was officially adopted into the family at the start of August and has been thriving ever since!

Figgy’s adoption story is truly one out of a Disney movie, as her new parents (and their former pup Kumo) went to great lengths to make sure she ended up in the best home possible. Her new family had lost their previous dog, Kumo, in May of 2020. For several nights after Kumo’s passing, her dad left a light on in his room in an effort to provide everyone some comfort. “I didn’t want him to feel alone,” her father explained. “I think he heard me and thought the same for us.” He left the light on one last night for Kumo, unknowingly calling on another life changing event.

The very next day, and just about a year after Kumo’s passing, they received the news that FAF got a new puppy in desperate need of a foster. Her bones were showing and she was wheezing, it was obvious she was in poor condition. It didn’t take much to convince them to welcome little Figgy into their home.

Figgy was severely underweight, a mere 6.5 lbs, but had a surprisingly large appetite for such an emaciated puppy. Before long, Figgy was finally healthy enough, and had found the confidence to find her forever home… but, little did we know, she had already found it! And according to her new dad, it was all thanks to Kumo. We couldn’t be happier for Figgy and her new family!
