About
Fur-Angel Foundation

Our Mission

Our mission is to rescue and find fur-ever homes for Oahu’s homeless and unwanted dogs, and to strengthen the human-animal bond in our community by educating the public about animal welfare.

Our Story

Fur-Angel Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dog rescue on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The foundation was established in October 2014 by a small group of friends who had a passion for helping the community, while also making a difference in the individual lives of animals and people. We operate within a foster network of trusted volunteers that share the same passion in giving dogs a chance at a life full of love. Through daily interaction with their foster family, FAF dogs receive indirect training, as well as lots of personal attention to help rebuild the trust that is often broken in rescue animals. We are honored to be considered as an alternative to the traditional shelter, offering our dogs experience with socialization and life-skills which help ease the process of transitioning into a fur-ever home.

Our Goal

Our goal is to find loving, suitable fur-ever homes for Hawaii’s less fortunate dogs. We believe that through the help of the community we will be able to help those who are unable to help themselves. We strive to find fur-ever homes for our dogs, with the intent of keeping them from ever re-entering the shelter system. At FAF, we believe that through daily interaction with their foster family, our dogs receive the life skills they will need post adoption.

A perk of our mission is that we also get to connect with amazing people who are just like us; animal lovers who want to contribute positively to the community! Cleaning, feeding, spending time with, and also making sure all of our pups are healthy is a big job. We have wonderful volunteers that assist us with picking up and dropping off pups to medical appointments, picking up donations, planning events, and more! It’s a lot of fun, so if you’d like to get involved please contact us.

Our program thrives thanks to our incredible network of foster families who provide love, care, and a safe place for pups as they wait for their fur-ever homes. By opening your home to a foster pup, you’re giving them a second chance and helping us save even more lives.  If you're interested in fostering please fill out an application today!

"Fur-Angel Foundation was so great to work with. Very professional and great communication. They were so supportive with our first foster experience. I was so impressed with how well they matched a dog to our family. Their passion and expertise shine bright."

"Such a pleasant experience of adopting our Evie from Fur-Angel Foundation. They asked us questions, interviewed our family, and made sure our home was a great fit for our new pet. Everything went smoothly and we are so happy with our new pet!"
